Rainbow Rehg is the Trans+ sibling of Rehg and Rehg’s first imprint, Rehg AM.
Rainbow Rehg launched in November 2025 with the first volume of unbinaried, an anthology of LGBTQ+ and allied writings from a Rainbow Bedfordshire writers’ group. The anthology was compiled and edited by poet Katie O’Pray and PhD student and writer Shelby Davies.
As Shelby writes in their foreword to unbinaried, the anthology “was born out of a moment of allyship,” and with the intention of creating a space of hope, joy, and celebration – this in the same year that the Supreme Court’s For Women Scotland versus the Scottish Ministers ruling was issued and, on its coattails, the EHRC’s execrable interim guidance. At the time of writing, and despite the bleak political landscape, perhaps there’s reason to hope for better weather: Good Law Project – in partnership with Trans+ rights groups such as TransActual, Trans+ Solidarity Alliance, and others – continues to push back against both the Supreme Court ruling and, particularly, the EHRC – which, it’s worth noting, the genocide-prevention Lemkin Institute has called to be stripped of its status as a humanitarian organization.
unbinaried I was launched at the University of Bedfordshire, November 20, 2025, Trans Day of Remembrance. Katie opened the launch with a performance of their poem “TDOR.” Then followed readings from contributors and a panel discussion of the project’s genesis.
unbinaried is available for free as PDF (below). Read it, enjoy it, share it – please. We’ve produced limited print run of unbinaried, which we are happy to give away on a first-come-first-served basis: get in touch with Oli Belas (oliver.belas@beds.ac.uk). Donations are always welcome, however, as Rainbow Rehg and Rehg are entirely un- and-or self-funded. There are no plans whatsoever to turn a profit; our only hope is to offset the costs of production so that we can continue to produce our work and to support our artists and craftspersons. If you’d like to donate, please contact Oli.
Thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy unbinaried I.
